TUESDAY: GLAMOROUS BOSPHORUS
Bebek – Rumelihisarı – Emirgan
Istanbul is a city that is shaped by two seas: the Black Sea in the north and the Marmara Sea in the south. The Bosphorus strait bisects Istanbul right in the middle: to the west of it lies Europe, and to its east is Asia.
This strait is also one of the city’s major highways, with more than 40,000 ships crossing through it every year, along with countless public ferries, fishermen’s boats and luxury yachts. The Bosphorus offers a kind of beauty that one can never get bored of, that never fails to surprise you. As the famous Turkish painter Taner Ceylan puts it: “The Bosphorus is the artery of the city, and in it, you can feel the pulse of life. It’s not a simple breeze that strokes your face; it is a messenger who carries endless stories and feelings.”
